MEGADETH's MUSTAINE Looking For Merchandise Ideas
October 29, 2005MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"I am very curious as to what intrigues y'all when flying colors for your favorite bands and what are some of the best merchandise ideas that you have even seen. This includes clothing as well as all other interesting things that are out there. I know each band has its most popular shirt, etc., as evidenced by a thread here at our very home. So, what are some of the most popular shirts by some of the other heavy metal greats like the other members of the Big Four, MAIDEN, PRIEST, ACCA DACCA, ZEP? Also some of our new favorite bands that have come out in the last 5-10 years?
"I remember back in the day they used to make shot glasses and beer mugs, as well as mirrors with grooves ground out of them for some odd reason
"Anyway, as we get ready to release material over the holidays and next spring, as well as write a new record and prepare for Gigantour 2006, my hands are quite full. So I appreciate your help in this area and I look forward to your comments on this."
Mustaine announced at the conclusion of the band's headlining performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 9 that the group's current lineup — which includes MacDonough, drummer Shawn Drover (EIDOLON) and guitarist Glen Drover (EIDOLON) — will continue to record and tour under the name MEGADETH.
MEGADETH recently completed a South American tour in support of "The System Has Failed", which came out in September 2004. The latest MEGADETH release, "Greatest Hits: Back to the Start" (Capitol),entered the Billboard chart at No. 65 and has sold 102,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
